We are now full swing into the month of October. Big month ahead. You can see the entire month of October below under the 'Important 1st Quarter Dates' tab. I have highlighted a few things here --
Parent / Teacher Conferences:
- These are 'In-Person' at WMHS. I hope that you can make it one of the days, to see your scholars teacher
- 10/9 from 5-8pm
- 10/10 from 2:30-5:30pm
Picture Re-take Day:
- If you missed our first round of pictures
- 10/24
End of the 1st Quarter:
- It is very important that every scholar gets their grades up as high as they can right now, as the Quarter is ending in a few weeks!

This week we close out the month of September, have our Homecoming Week, AND it's the Official State Count Day for School Districts in Michigan.
WMHS Homecoming Week Information --
- Homecoming Week: September 30 - October 5.
- See the Theme days below.
- The Pep Rally is Thursday, 5th and 6th Hour.
- The Homecoming Fair, Parking Lot Celebration, will run from 4-6pm.
- The Game is Friday evening, 7pm. *Royalty will be crowned at halftime.
- The Dance is Saturday evening, 6:30-9:30pm.
Count Day on Wednesday --
- Our student count determines our funding from the State.
- Our funding from the State determines our programming that we can offer at WMHS.
- It is imperative that your scholar is at school and in their ALL of their classes on Count Day!!

District Staff Professional Development Day --
- There is no school for students this coming Wednesday, September 25, as staff will be in professional development on this day.
WMHS vs. JGHS Football Game --
- JGHS scheduled WMHS as their homecoming game this year.
- Please note: the WMHS vs. JGHS football game will be played at 5pm on Friday, September 27, at JGHS.
Update! WMHS Homecoming --
- Homecoming Week: September 30 - October 5.
- The game is Friday evening, 7pm, on October 4.
- The Dance is Saturday evening, 6:30-9:30pm, on October 5.
- Tickets will be sold to students that completed the contract during our lunches this week.
- Homecoming Dance Ticket sales will end on Friday, 2pm, on September 27

We Invite you to a Virtual Community Forum on Diet Culture, Body Image and Disordered Eating
VIRTUAL EVENT: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024
The presentation will cover the basics of eating and feeding disorders affecting adolescents and athletes including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, ARFID, and RED-S. Topics include the common warning signs of disordered eating and exercise, how caregivers and coaches can find support for loved ones, tips on how to intervene, and how to increase protective factors around athletes' body image. Discussion will also include eating, exercise, and nutrition myths and provide books, websites, and support group resources
