Good Evening Walker-Winter Families,

Today is National Dolphin Day and it reminds me why our Walker-Winter mascot is the Dolphin! Dolphins are the most social and intelligent mammals in the ocean and develop strong bonds with other members of their dolphin pod which can be up to 1,000 dolphins. Just like dolphins, our students are smart, playful and care about our school community.

See the link below for our Walker-Winter Weekly update...there's a lot of important information!

Our 5th graders will be taking the M-STEP this week and it's our Buy One, Get One Free Scholastic Book Fair week.

Also, check out the info on our FREE WWCS Summer programs, Middle School Transition Nights, Autism Acceptance Spirit Week coming soon and important information from our Food Service department on how to qualify for the Summer EBT program.

Additionally, Food Service is looking for feedback on our food service provider, Aramark. Do this survey with your child so they can share their thoughts on our FREE breakfast and lunch program.

Have a good week ahead!

Weekly Letter to Students, Parents and Staff

Dear Wayne-Westland Families,

With eight weeks left in the school year, students continue to learn, grow, and thrive. Students and staff are also gearing up for the year's culmination with celebrations and cherished traditions. This week has been particularly eventful, with state testing and the educational opportunity presented by the rare Solar Eclipse.

With collaboration from other departments, our Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department has spearheaded significant improvements across nearly every academic subject area. We have seen growth in our students. One crucial tool guiding these enhancements is the series of state and national tests that commenced last week. Each assessment measures the knowledge and skills our students learn in school.
