As we observe National Suicide Prevention Month and World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, we recognize the critical need to address the challenges of suicidal ideation among our youth. The impact of this issue extends throughout our community, affecting us all.
Dear Wayne-Westland Families,
September is National Suicide Prevention Month. This month is an opportune time to revisit the warning signs of mental health distress and how we can provide support.
School Safety Information
We are committed to keeping our families informed about essential emergency preparedness procedures to ensure everyone knows what to do in an emergency. This includes guidance on what actions to take (and what to avoid), the timeline to expect during a lockdown, and an overview of the safety drills conducted across our schools each year.
The District Crisis Team developed these important documents. We encourage all families to review this information to be fully prepared and informed.
