Just a reminder that we have a half day of school on Tuesday, 12/10, and Thursday, 12/12, for parent teacher conferences. School will dismiss at 11:40am on Tuesday and Thursday. Looking forward to seeing you at conferences!
The newsletter includes safe student drop off reminders. It's important that students are dropped off in the drop off lane in the front of the school or around the north side of the school by the 5th grade doors and playground. Only busses are allowed in the bus lane on Glenwood. Do not drop your student off in the bus lane on Glenwood.

Here is this week's Schweitzer Stinger Scoop.
Please notice that there will be half days on Tuesday, December 10th, and Thursday, December 12th, for elementary conferences. We dismiss at 11:40am on half days. Your student's teacher will send out a conference sign-up this week.
As the weather begins to get colder and colder, please be sure to send your student to school in layers and with warm clothes for recess. Just a reminder that school begins at 8:30am and arrival begins at 8:20am. Do not leave your children unattended before arrival begins at 8:20am.

We have a very short week this week, with a full day of school on Monday and a half day on Tuesday. No school Wednesday - Friday for Thanksgiving. I'm returning to work on Monday after taking a maternity leave, and I am so excited to see all of the students! I missed everyone so much.
NEWSLETTER: Schweitzer Elementary Stinger Scoop - November 24, 2024
Hello Schweitzer community. The following are some really neat activities that will be taking place this month:
* October 23: Sprint reward PIE-in-the-Face during lunch. Anyone who has reached our $100.00 goal will receive an invite.
* October 24: All school Pink Out day. Wear PINK!
* October 29: Hall-O-Ween Walk Through 5pm-6pm. Heavenly Hot Dogs are on site to purchase. Parent volunteers are welcome.
Let us know if you are interested.
* October 31: Halloween Parade starting at 11:15. It is a half day so release time is 11:40. Students may be released to parents at the
conclusion of the walk. Parents can pick them up at their grade level pickup doors.
General Information:
Please drive safely through the parking lot before and after school. Please drop off your child at the curb. Dropping off
in the "thru lane" can be dangerous. Also, please come to complete stops at the stop signs.
Schweitzer is looking to start a SWBA group. Look for a flyer to be sent home soon.
BEE a Schweitzer Volunteer!
We are looking for volunteers for three different times of the day:
BEFORE SCHOOL 8:15 - 8:30: Crossing Guard/Parking Lot Monitor
LUNCH 11:15 - 12:45: Lunch Monitor (this is for all three lunches; we will take volunteers for any of our three lunch times as your time allows)
AFTER SCHOOL 3:20 - 3:35: Crossing Guard/Parking Lot Monitor
If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities, contact Ms. Jenny Sentz in the Main Office.
Stinger Sprint
Our Annual Stinger Sprint will take place on Wednesday, October 9 on the Schweitzer Playground. Specific times for your child's class to participate will be shared with you by their classroom teacher. You are welcome to attend and cheer them on!
Bible Club
Bible Club starts on October 17 and meets every Thursday from 3:30 - 4:30 in Room 22
Flyers and Permission Slips are in the Main Office - this needs to be completed prior to your child being able to attend
This is through the "Boys and Girls Bible Clubs" and questions can be directed to their office at 248-355-9916 or at www.BibleClubs.org
