Vision Statement

Welcome to Hamilton where we stand for success! We believe in engaging students in opportunities that will build their future, inspire life long learning, and develop a community of leaders by providing solid curriculum and a safe and nurturing environment.

Hello Hamilton Families!

I really need your help!! We are having ongoing (and far too frequent) incidents between parents in the parking lot. Please stop engaging in arguments about where people are parked, how long they are taking to move, if they accidentally bump your door. These are all things that can be resolved without making a scene. If everyone does their part and follows the drop off and pick up procedure we will not have any issues.

  1. Drive slow!
  2. Be ready to wait, we have a lot of kids to drop off/pick up, it will take a few minutes
  3. If you get out of your driver set, you must be in an actual parking spot.
  4. DO NOT let your child out in the middle lane. This is not only very dangerous, it holds up traffic.
  5. If someone makes a gesture at you PLEASE IGNORE THEM your reaction will not change their behavior and just causes more conflict.
  6. Your child should enter and exit their assigned door (unless it is pouring rain).
  7. Please share this with anyone who is picking your child up as we have had a number of relatives pick children up and not follow the procedure.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and for being a positive role model for all our students.

Board of Education Names New Superintendent

Last night marked a meaningful milestone for our district. Following several months of community input, stakeholder engagement, and robust public participation, the Wayne-Westland Community Schools Board of Education conducted final interviews with three outstanding candidates for our next Superintendent.

Following those interviews, the Board voted to appoint Dr. Catherine Cost as the next Superintendent of Wayne-Westland Community Schools, effective July 1, 2026 — pending successful contract negotiations.

The Board is deeply grateful to every community member who completed a survey, attended a forum, or shared feedback that helped define the qualities we sought in our next leader.

We are excited about what lies ahead. Dr. Cost joins a district supported by an engaged community and a dedicated team of educators committed to the success of every child. Together, we have every reason to look forward with confidence and optimism.

Please join the Board of Education in warmly welcoming Dr. Catherine Cost to the Wayne-Westland family. The best is yet to come.

With gratitude,

Wayne-Westland Community Schools Board of Education
