The Michigan Meirt Exam (MME) replaced the MEAP testing at the high school level as of March 2007.

Under the provisions of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) the Michigan Merit Exam (MME) tests are designed to measure student performance in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics. Spring 2007 was the first administration of this assessment.
The assessment included the ACT plus writing, Work Keys: reading for information and applied mathematics, and Michigan created items. This assessment was vastly different from the previous MEAP testing and thus two-year comparisons cannot be made.
