Under the provisions of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) the Michigan Merit Exam (MME) tests are designed to measure student performance in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics. The assessment included the ACT plus writing, Work Keys: reading for information and applied mathematics, and Michigan created items. The categories below represent the percentages of students whose MME scores were classified as proficient (Level 1 and Level 2).
