District News
Greetings Wayne-Westland Families.
As the end of the school year draws closer, students and staff are gearing us for the last day of school just over one month away. To keep students engaged in learning all summer, he district is planning comprehensive summer learning programs.
I want to provide you with an important update regarding our district's technology resources. As you may know, our schools have been fortunate to receive funding through the Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF), a grant that has allowed us to provide iPads with cellular service to elementary students for educational purposes.
Greetings Wayne-Westland Families,
With less than two months left in the school year, our students are still learning, growing, and thriving. As our high school seniors prepare to conclude their K-12 experience with cherished traditions and celebrations, we look forward to welcoming a new group of Young 5s and kindergarten students next fall. Spring marks a significant and memorable time in our school district.
Greetings Wayne-Westland Families,
As we approach spring , I want to highlight the importance of upcoming assessments for our students across all grade levels.
For our middle and high school students, spring assessments provide valuable insights into their progress and help us tailor our educational approach to meet their needs. I encourage all students to approach these assessments with focus and determination, as they serve as benchmarks for their growth and development.
In this installment of 60 Seconds in Wayne-Westland, Daryl Beebe discusses March Reading Month, our Celebrity Readers program and our Wayne-Westland Compact.
Greetings Wayne-Westland Families. As we proceed along the path of the school year, students are actively preparing for the upcoming academic year and shaping their futures.
For our high school seniors, this entails making postsecondary plans. Our College and Career Readiness department has a newsletter with valuable information on college scholarships, navigating the FAFSA process, and other resources tailored to support our high school students.
Greetings Wayne-Westland Families,
As we enter March and the arrival of spring, Wayne-Westland Community Schools is bursting with activities. We invite you to participate in a virtual community forum on March 13 to discuss the district’s student threat assessment process and internet safety.
Effective communication is essential for success. We are committed to enhancing how our district and schools engage with students, families, and the community. Research shows that student achievement thrives when parents and families are actively involved in their child’s education. We value your partnership as one of the most significant influences on your child's educational journey.
Greetings Wayne-Westland Families,
It is hard to believe that we are now more than halfway through the 2023-24 school year. Among other accomplishments, this school year, we had the grand opening of a new STEM Center and the expansion of additional high school programming at the William D. Ford Career Tech Center. We have new resources focused on student wellness, including a new school-based health center at John Glenn High School. We now have two health centers in the district that are available for our students.
